Mold Model Car Club

Track at Tattenhall now closed see news page updated 10/04/07.

Welcome to the Mold Model Car Club Website

Until very recently Mold Model Car club could be found adjacent to Mold Alexander Football Club. Unfortunately due to a building development we had to move to a new location in Dodleston near Chester, We then lost this venue due to a slight 'misunderstanding' between the land owner and Chester City Council. We have now moved to a temporary venue near Tattenhall just off the A41approximately 8 miles south of Chester. We are actively looking for a permanent venue for the Club and currently have a few locations that may be possible.

We race indoors in the winter months on carpet at the Airbus factory canteen in Broughton, racing 1/12th, Vdub and 1/10th saloon cars, we feel we have one of the best venues in the northwest for racing. We have an excellent sized indoor track, large pitting area and what better way to end the evening than with a few drinks in the club bar afterwards.

Clubnights are held on Tuesday nights during the winter and Wednesday nights when we race outdoors.

Booking in opens at 6:30pm, first heat on the line for 6.45pm.

We run a computerised lap counting system, we will provide you with a transponder for those who don't have their own which is to be fitted inside your car.

We use the RC Timing software for our computerised lapcounting system, head over to their website for more information.

We normally begin with an open practice session during which those wishing to test their cars must use our 'peg board' to verify no-one else is already using the same frequency.

We have three qualifying rounds each lasting five minutes. We then hold the Finals, we normally have a 10 minute A final other finals being 5 minutes.

As our outdoor track at Tattenhall is only temporary we will be holding meetings Sunday Mornings hopefully every other week, weather permitting.
